Week of November 13, 2017

  • The students will be having an Author Visit on Monday during Enrichment Lab. Due to this, I will not be assigning homework on Monday.

  • I wish everyone a safe and enjoyable Thanksgiving Break. I will see you back at school on November 27th!

  • Reading - Students will take a district reading snapshot this week. A grade will not be taken from this test. I will use the information to help me know how the students are progressing and to guide my instruction.
  • Language Arts - Students will review spelling irregular plural nouns. These are nouns that do not follow any rule when changing from their singular to plural form. Examples include child/children, mouse/mice, sheep/sheep.
  • Writing - Students will continue practicing using the "How and Why CAFE" strategies to develop their ideas when doing expository writing.
  • Social Studies - We will continue to look at European exploration to Texas this week and the motivations these explorers had when they came to Texas. We will spend some time focusing on LaSalle and his explorations.
